When a curing light emits an intensity less than 300 mW/cm^2, checkUP provides a low output notification, to ensure the clinician is aware of the performance of their light in comparison to the expectation set by the manufacturer. According to ISO 10650:2018 light output shall vary by no more than +/- 20% of the manufacturer's stated output.
CheckUP does not indicate curing times for lights emitting less than 300 mW/cm^2 as a minimum. A light curing unit should also meet the minimum irradiance required by a dental material.
